What is the CDPAP Program?

CDPAP stands for the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program. It’s a way for patients who need care to self-direct their home health care, choosing a caregiver they know and trust.

Who is Eligible For CDPAP?

New York Patients who qualify for Medicaid are eligible to hire anyone they’d like - a family member, a trusted friend, a previously hired aide.

Whoever makes them feel comfortable. Since everyone’s care needs are individual, a member from your insurance will conduct a face-to-face meeting to decide how much care you are eligible for.

The chosen aide must be:

At least 18 years old

Legally allowed to work in the states
